About Dry Eyes

About Presbyopia
A normal part of the aging process, presbyopia is a gradual loss of the eye's ability to adjust the focus. Presbyopia is due to the natural stiffening of the lens in the eye on near objects. This prevents the lens from changing focus so that one can clearly see both distance and near objects. Presbyopia usually begins to occur around the age of forty and it is commonly corrected by the use of reading glasses or bifocals. Patients with myopia or hyperopia should realize that even correcting myopia or hyperopia with Laser Vision Correction will not eliminate the potential need for reading glasses when reaching middle age. For those patients who absolutely do not wish to wear reading glasses as they get older, Lens Replacement Surgery, such as Crystalens Vision Correction, may be an option to discuss with the doctor at your Consultation.
REFERRALS
If your insurance or HMO requires a referral to a specialist, you must bring this with you at the time of service. If another doctor has sent you to us, we will provide a written report to that referring doctor.

FEES, INSURANCE, BILLING
We make every effort to keep our fees reasonable for all patients. We request that payment for office visits be made at the time of service. We accept checks, VISA & MasterCard. We will file all insurance claims for you for office visits, diagnostic services, and surgery. We are participating providers with most local HMOs. Please notify our staff of your insurance coverage when you make an appointment. If a referral is required, please be sure to bring it with you for your visit. All co-pays will be collected at the time of service.
EYEGLASS PRESCRIPTIONS
If prescription glasses are necessary, our doctors will prescribe them for you. The prescription can be filled accurately and in a timely manner at our on site optical services department. The optical department carries a complete line of designer frames and various lenses, including bifocals, trifocals, photogray and UV blocking lenses. We believe that our eyeglasses are competitively priced and we stand behind our frames and lenses.
